City Botanical Gardens
The gardens are considered to be a living museum displaying specimens from yesteryear and more modern plants and fauna. You can enjoy a walk with a volunteer walk guide that leaves the Rotunda area between 11am and 1pm daily.
The gardens are a popular place for wedding photos and also romantic picnics and strolls. Families also utilise the lush green grass areas for family activities. You can catch a ferry to the gardens or you may also catch a city cat. The Queensland University of Technology - Gardenpoint campus is located beside the gardens so this is a popualar place for students to meet and catch up or take a break from the books.
The best way to get to the gardens is by foot or ferry as there is no parking available.
Mt Coot-tha Botanical Gardens
The Brisbane Botanic Gardens are situated at the base of Mt Coot-tha and display sub-tropical specimen over 52 hectares. The Gardens are free to enter and are located within easy access to the city centre. Free parking is also provided for those that will arrive by rental car.
Mt Coot-tha Lookout
Providing an observation deck to enjoy a panoramic view of Brisbane city and the surrounding suburbs. Visitors also enjoy the gift shop and restaurant/cafe that is situated there. You can also celebrate a your special day here as there are facilities for weddings and functions.
